The operators' helicopters and bases
Midtnorsk Helikoptertransport arranges missions from the operators' bases in Mid-Norway: Mosjøen, Verdal, Frosta and Værnes.
Below, each passenger-approved type is shown in one place — seating, lift capacity and use. Operators also have cargo-only aircraft (no passengers): AS350 (H125), Bell 206 B3, Gabri G2 and R44.
Eurocopter AS350 B3
External lift: up to 1350 kg
Passengers: 5 or 6 + pilot
Main use: Heavy lift, concrete transport, cabin construction
Strong workhorse — our choice when the load is heavy and the mission demands maximum lift.
Eurocopter AS350 BA
External lift: ~800 kg
Passengers: 5 + pilot
Main use: Versatile — cargo, passengers, photo/film, sightseeing
Same seating and cruise speed as B3, but more affordable — perfect for combined missions.
Eurocopter EC130
External lift: ~1400 kg
Passengers: 6 or 7 + pilot
Main use: Higher-capacity passenger transport, sightseeing, light cargo
Spacious 6–7 seat cabin — the best choice when several fly together.
Eurocopter EC120B
External lift: ~600 kg
Passengers: 4 + pilot
Main use: Passenger transport, sightseeing, short missions
Light 4-seater turbine — the most affordable and flexible passenger option.
How we choose the right helicopter
We pick helicopter type based on load weight, passenger count, terrain, altitude and distance — for the right cost and safest execution. Temperature, pressure and humidity also affect practical lift capacity.
Rule of thumb: don't shoot sparrows with cannons. EC120B for 600 kg missions is cheaper than AS350 B3 — we recommend the right type in our quote.
Maintenance & certification
All helicopters are maintained under strict EASA Part-145 by certified technical staff. Pre-flight checks every flight, detailed component logs, strict inspection intervals.
Approved by Norwegian CAA for both technical and operational. Aviation is strictly regulated and we take it seriously.
