About Midtnorsk Helikoptertransport — your hub for helicopter services in Mid-Norway

Midtnorsk Helikoptertransport is an AI-based service owned, developed and operated by Heliwing Helikopter AS — your one-stop hub for everything about helicopter transport, pricing and booking of helicopter services in Mid-Norway. We are not a helicopter operator ourselves: we facilitate, find the most cost-effective operator for the mission and plan the job for you. The flying itself is carried out by independent operators — every helicopter used is under technical and operational approval from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority.

Our story

Built by Heliwing Helikopter AS — 25 years of experience

The portal is operated and owned by Heliwing Helikopter AS, a wholly Norwegian-owned limited company within helicopter transport with 25 years of experience. Our focus is to provide expertise and organise helicopter transport in Mid-Norway. Operational services are performed by operators with helicopters working between Saltfjellet and Jotunheimen. We find the most cost-effective option for you and handle all planning.

The teams consist of multiple experienced pilots with backgrounds in complex cargo lifting, film and photo flying, passenger transport, reindeer herding, powerline inspection and other special operations. Experience spans everything from cabin lifts in the mountains to power utility missions, emergency response and complex concrete pours.

The operators' helicopters are stationed at various bases across the coverage area, which extends from Saltfjellet in the north to Otta in the south, and Måløy in the west. The operators have strong experience in Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, southern Nordland (Helgeland), northern Innlandet (Gudbrandsdalen) and northern Vestland — mountains, coast and inland terrain. Longer missions on request with transit time added.

Safety

EASA-certified, approved by Norwegian CAA

All operational services are performed under EASA-certified procedures, approved by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority for technical and operational duty. Aviation is subject to strict regulatory oversight — our focus is on safety, permits and the customer, in that order.

All pilots have documented competence for their mission types, and every Eurocopter AS350 and EC120B helicopter is maintained by certified technical staff to strict intervals.

Every flight is planned in detail by the operator at the chosen base. Weather, terrain, load and route. Flights are always aborted or postponed if conditions are not safe. Safety first: the operator says no when conditions require it. No mission is more important than coming home safely.

Our values

🛡️

Safety first

The operator says no when conditions demand it. No mission is more important than coming home safe.

🎯

Precision

Tough terrain, precise delivery, tight time — the operators are trained for it.

🤝

Reliability

Commitments are kept. Fast response, clear pricing, execution as planned.

🇳🇴

Local knowledge

Norwegian mountains, fjords and weather — the operators know what flying here demands.

Certifications and approvals

Helicopter operations are strictly regulated by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority and European EASA rules. All operating helicopters are flown under the approvals required to perform every mission type we undertake, and are qualified in industry-specific supplier systems.

EASA Part-145

Maintenance organization approval. Aircraft maintained by certified technical personnel under strict intervals.

Norwegian CAA AOC

Air Operator Certificate — approval for commercial helicopter operations including taxi, cargo and special.

Achilles NCE Utilities

Supplier ID 108229. The system Norwegian utilities use for qualified suppliers — no extra prequalification needed.

REN-blad 8070

Norm for visual powerline inspection. The onboard specialist is REN-certified and reports are delivered to the REN norm.

HSE — health, safety and environment

Aviation is subject to strict oversight from the civil aviation authorities, and our focus is on safety, permits and customer — in that order. Every flight is planned in detail by the operator based on weather, terrain, load and route. The operator always aborts or postpones if conditions are not safe — no mission matters more than coming home safely.

Pilot competence

All pilots have documented competence for their mission types and complete regular checks and training programmes per EASA requirements.

Environment

Helicopter transport has a lower CO₂ footprint than construction roads + heavy transport over short distances. Gentle on sensitive mountain nature, grazing land and nature reserves. We can calculate the environmental footprint for each individual mission.
